Buildings Committee Meeting MINUTES

March 13th, 2018

7 - 8:30 PM

In attendance: Corey, Drew, Taften

  • Vote in new Chair, Taften voted in unanimously (also has been doing the work)

  • Painting project update

  • Nothing to report from Nadja (contacted via email prior to meeting)

  • Buildings would like an full update on the project; estimated time until it’s finished; which areas are complete and ready to be looked at and reviewed, etc.

  • Light bulbs:

  • Ordered on 3.12.18 AmazonBasics 100 (14) Watt, Daylight 5000 Kelvin, 15k hrs life, Non-Dimmable, A21 LED Light Bulb, 16-Pack, 1400 Lumens

  • I am making the signs: what to have on the signs.

  • 2nd floor of 1807. Contact Terry, Rozlyn, Megan, Alex, Doug, Drew: Email a poll of Light watt preference and put forum post. See what the people want.

  • One sign for the 65 (9) watt bulbs and one for the 100 (14) watt bulbs.

  • Transalarm: Val called them out and they are doing the handle and popping noise today

  • I am contacting the person to teach us the locking system. When are people available?

  • Rotorooter:

  • Haven’t heard back from Doug, will reach out again.

  • Will reach out again

  • Laundry Machines:

  • Taften contacted BDS and informed them of no new machines at this time but that the discussion will continue.

  • Erik Nelson Plumbing $160/hr and $40 charge for estimates for faucet in 1807 Laundry room

  • Risers for the washers and dryers

  • DA - On some at least, but not all

  • CG - Yes for all in 1811, some in 1807 (if residents there want them)

  • Trash Problem, residents dumping trash in back.

  • We need to up the price for the neighbors at evergreen terrace

  • 7,500 budgeted for 2017 but we were 800 over budget.

  • Rain barrel replacement - Need to be removed as soon as the ice is fully melted. End of March. Has been voted on several times and at several meetings.

  • Notice to members about water in 1801. Over budget by 4k. Need to reach out and find any leaks/running water.

  • Next meeting: April 10th at 7pm

Things that need to get done/To Do list for Buildings:

*Roto rooter video inspection to be scheduled to address drain plugging.

*Carpet cleaning to be scheduled after roto rooter visit.

*Railing repair at 1801, front railing into cement. Look into new railings.

Trans Alarm - Instructional Videos and materials complete.

Fence looked at eventually due to open door, rear 1811 metal fence

signage in closet/website for where to get replacement bulbs.

Gutter repair - Estimate for any repair. Look into heating elements for gutter in back of 1811.

Rain barrel Removal: ASAP

Carpeting project

Hot water heater maintenance
